The start of a new war? Or just guerrilla maneuvers against previous guerrilla maneuvers?

Bombs were dropped and the Turkish military crossed into Iraq. Tensions between Turkey and Iraq are heating up now. More from Big News Network:
Turkish warplanes and helicopters struck Kurdish rebel positions in northern Iraq as diplomatic efforts began Friday to defuse tensions about separatist bases in the region.

Turkey's state-run Anatolia news agency reports that Turkish aircraft attacked suspected rebel positions detected during reconnaissance missions.

Turkey has threatened to launch cross-border military operations against rebels of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, who have intensified attacks inside Turkey.

An Iraqi spokesman says the initial results of the talks in Ankara between an Iraqi delegation and senior Turkish officials were positive.

Turkey wanted nothing to do with Iraq when the target was Sadaam Hussein. Now that it's PKK rebels, tensions are near the breaking point on the Turkish side. This is not a condemnation of the Turks and the thorny PKK problem. Just an observation.
